Andaz Xintiandi, Shanghai is pleased to announce the relaunch of their afternoon tea, one of the hotel’s most popular offerings. Like the hotel itself, the afternoon tea is a contemporary take on a classic, combining local style and modern aesthetics with irresistible, classic options.
The new afternoon tea set includes a variety of Western treats plated in an innovative three-tiered set made of Chinese-inspired wood and stone. Created by pastry chef Michal Yu, six beautiful “sweet” options are presented on a raw slate, including a coffee opera cake with vanilla cream, a sweet and rich almond financier with passion fruit cream, mint panna cotta with apple sauce, blueberry chocolate éclairs, raspberry cream mousse with pecan nuts brownies and mango cream mille-feuille.
Savory options, served in a contemporary wooden box, include open-faced smoked salmon sandwiches, mini zucchini pizzas, broccoli ricotta cheese tarts, mini ham and cheese croissants and scone set that includes clotted cream, fresh berries, whipping cream and homemade raspberry jam.
The new afternoon tea set will be available for CNY198 per person (CNY388 for two) from August 1, 2016 from 1pm to 5:30pm daily in the Andaz Lounge. All prices plus 15% surcharge.
